Though this lake is normally only one meter deep, it can flood to as many as 12 meters emerging footpaths and benches that would once be used by visitors. During this time of the year, the water is so cold that it can only be explored either by scuba diving or snorkelling creating the perfect underwater world for you to explore. Pripyat, Ukraine

One of the most famous locations on this list of unusual places is Pripyat in Ukraine. Since the horrific events that took place over 30 years ago, the city has been left completely abandoned. The city was evacuated during the disaster with toys and rooms left exactly as they were. Not only this, but the unopened Pripyat amusement park is also left abandoned with the ferris wheel left towering over the part. Though this unusual location is still uninhabitable due to the outpour of radiation from the infamous reactor number 4, it is possible to have a one- or two-day tour around the area to see what remains.

Another highly unusual location for a holiday is the underwater museum in the Canary Islands. This unusual location is another that is perfect for those that love scuba diving as there is plenty for you to see. With over 300 sculptures all placed 50 feet deep under water, these human sculptures not only make the perfect home for schools of fish, but they are also the perfect location for you to visit something unusual with your friends and family.
